Celtic supporters stepped up their protests against the board on Sunday, with vocal demonstrations inside and outside the stadium before and during the match against Hearts.
Tensions between sections of the support and the club’s hierarchy have been simmering for months, but recent events have pushed frustrations to new levels.
Chants of “sack the board” rang out once again at Celtic Park, a now-regular feature of home matches this season.
Ahead of kick-off, around 2,000 supporters marched from St Mary’s in the Calton to the stadium, holding a short protest on the Celtic Way. Fans displayed banners criticising the board and calling for change.
Inside the ground, banners were visible in every stand. Supporters’ clubs from across the country took part.

The wide distribution of banners throughout the stadium made clear that the unrest is not confined to the Green Brigade or Bhoys Celtic.
Although the Green Brigade were initially handed a six-game ban by the club, this has since been made indefinite. Still, their messaging has been adopted and echoed by other sections of the support. On Sunday, their usual end was empty, but their banners appeared at the opposite end, in with the Bhoys.
What was once seen as isolated discontent from “ultras” has clearly grown into something broader.
The chants and banners are becoming impossible to ignore.
The relationship between the board and the support has reached a critical point, with pressure mounting from both the stands and the streets.
