Former Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis has delighted his new support by scoring his first Atlanta goal in his first full start for the MLS Club.

The striker made the switch in early February after being frustrated playing behind Kyogo in the Celtic team.

The Greek striker helped bring home Ange’s first Celtic title but struggled to get into the team in front of a firing Kyogo. Coupled with the player looking for a more lucrative deal from the club, his exit was inevitable.

Moving to Atlanta, Giakoumakis has the chance to make his mark in the MLS, and he’s got off to a great start.

In typical Giakoumakis style, the striker scored a one touch finish for his new side to give the Atlanta Support a flavour of what to expect.

The Greek striker was a fan favourite at Celtic. It’s really a testament to the recruitment and Ange Postecoglou that the Celtic support have already moved on.

Oh was signed in January to replace Giakouamkis and he got his own one touch finish against Hibs to keep Celtic nine points clear at the top of the table.

Giakoumakis got the contract he wanted and Celtic fans have a new physical striker in Oh, everybody wins!
