Celtic Women continued their perfect start to the SWPL season by beating Aberdeen 4-0 away from home.

The victory marked another commanding performance from the team, setting them on a confident trajectory ahead of the two-week international break.

The first-half saw Chloe Craig break the deadlock at the 41st-minute mark, rewarding Celtic for their relentless pressure and consistent attempts on goal. The initial stages of the game were marked by Celtic’s dominance and several close calls, including efforts from Caitlin Hayes, Natalie Ross, Nourimane Addi, and Kit Loferski. The continuous assault on Aberdeen’s goal culminated with Craig’s header, putting the Hoops ahead.

Amy Gallagher hit the woodwork twice in the closing stages of the first half.

The relentless pressure eventually yielded results in the form of two rapid-fire goals. Shen Menglu brilliantly worked her way into the box to slot in the second, while Jenny Smith’s subsequent long-range strike was nothing short of spectacular, potentially cementing itself as a contender for goal of the season.

Smith wasn’t finished, though. She unleashed a left-footed rocket into the top corner in the 85th minute, sealing the victory for Celtic and showcasing her undeniable talent.

With another commendable performance under their belt, especially after the dramatic comeback against Hearts, Celtic Women will look to keep the momentum going as they prepare for their next league match against Glasgow City after the international break.
