We’re never surprised when it comes to the quality of officiating in Scotland.

Today, in the early kick-off of the Scottish Cup, we saw Hamilton robbed of a penalty when the game was 1-1 between themselves and Steven Gerrard’s men who had already got a pen at the other end.

Right before half time there was a blatant hand ball in the box and what’s more, the referees view is so good, it’s quite extraordinary there was nothing given.

In the second half Hamilton capitulated and the Ibrox club advance. This is just days after a video of Alan McGregor bemoaning no VAR in Scotland.

The Rangers are the first club in the hot for the quarter final and Celtic will look to join them against Clyde on Sunday.
