Hyeon-gyu Oh’s journey since leaving Celtic this summer has been a story of resurgence and redemption.

After feeling sidelined at Celtic due to the emergence of Adam Idah, Oh moved to Genk where he has quickly begun to reestablish himself.
With limited game time at Celtic affecting his national team status, Oh’s recent performances have seen him recalled to the South Korean squad.
Scoring three goals in just eight substitute appearances for Genk, totaling 105 minutes, illustrates his efficiency and readiness when called upon. His impact was further highlighted in his country’s international fixture, where he came on as a substitute and scored within 17 minutes, marking his first senior goal for South Korea.
It was a great goal from the forward:

This turnaround has not only revitalized his club career but also restored his international prospects. Oh will be looking to continue his form in his country’s next match against Iraq, aiming to cement his place and continue his upward trajectory.
For whatever reason it didn’t really work out at Celtic. He did score a few goals and was a big, physical striker, something which is required in the SPFL, but Brendan Rodgers didn’t seem to rate him too highly.
He seems to have turned a corner in his career now, so good luck to him.
