Jonathan Afolabi is officially a Celtic player with the club confirming a three-year deal for the Irishman this morning.
The 19-year-old player who can play as a winger or striker sat down with Celtic’s multimedia man Gerry McCulloch as he was welcomed to the club.
The player spoke about knowing some of his new team-mates already from the Ireland setup and also divulged he had quite a few options on the table before signing for Celtic.
Jonathan becomes Celtic’s fifth summer signing and second Irish under 19 international player to come in during this window. Luca Connell came through the door earlier this summer and is playing with the colt side at present.
"Celtic has the best structure, great facilities and a great team with a winning mentality which is what I want to be a part of." ?

Formerly of Southampton, Celtic’s newest signing wants to make his mark at the club and do everything he can to make it into Neil Lennon’s thoughts.
Celtic are still shy of a few first team players on the signing front, with 12 days to go it could get tight for the bhoys bringing in new faces to join Jonathan.
Makes a change a player coming to Celtic from Southampton. Hope Jonathan enjoys his time. And hopefully for him, he gets a chance at a first team start. But knowing the board they will loan him out back in England or the lower league structure here.
