Kyogo Furuhashi may have stolen the headlines with his brace against St Johnstone, but the Japanese forward was quick to heap praise on teammate Arne Engels during his post-match media duties.

Engels, who has now won back-to-back Man of the Match awards, delivered another great performance in the heart of Celtic’s midfield, including a key assist for Kyogo’s first goal.

In a lighthearted and humorous video, Kyogo expressed his gratitude for Engels’ contribution while showcasing his admiration for the Belgian’s skill.

“I’m just happy to help the team—and his assist… wow!” Kyogo said with a wide grin, leaving those watching in stitches at his animated delivery.

The £11 million summer signing from Augsburg has been steadily proving his worth after a slow start at Celtic Park. Against St Johnstone, Engels showcased his all-around abilities, combining defensive solidity with creative flair, epitomised by his exquisite assist for Kyogo’s opener. His precise through ball split the defence and left Kyogo with a simple finish.

This marked yet another standout performance for the 21-year-old, who is establishing himself as a midfield lynchpin for Brendan Rodgers.

Kyogo’s glowing comments about Engels highlight the strong camaraderie within the Celtic squad. The striker, who himself bounced back to form with a double, clearly recognises the quality his teammate brings to the side.
