LEWIS MORGAN scored a vital goal for Sunderland on Friday evening to keep the Black Cats in the hunt for an automatic promotion place as the season comes to its conclusion.

Morgan has been on loan to the English side since January and has certainly played his part in proceedings since rejoining Jack Ross at the Stadium of light.

With the pressure on and Sunderland needing to win to keep in touch with second-placed Barnsley, Lewis stepped up and scored a cracking half volley to put the home side ahead.

A big assist coming from former Celtic midfielder Aiden McGeady who has had a great season for the Black Cats.

Lewis Morgan will return to Parkhead this summer to fight for his place in the squad. It won’t be easy with so much talent already there and the inclusion of Maryan Shved.

Sunderland fans have taken to Lewis and may expect the club to put an offer in for the midfielder this summer. However, it will be up to whoever’s in charge of Celtic at that point to decide who stays and who goes.
