Matt O’Riley marked his Premier League debut for Brighton & Hove Albion in spectacular fashion by scoring the decisive goal in a 2-1 comeback victory over Manchester City.
Introduced as a substitute when Brighton were trailing 1-0, O’Riley’s impact was immediate and significant. After Haaland had given City the lead, Joao Pedro equalized, and O’Riley soon followed with a well-taken goal, showcasing his composure and attacking instinct.

The midfielder’s goal came from a perfectly weighted pass from Joao Pedro, slipping behind the City defence and coolly steering the ball past the advancing Ederson. This strike turned the game on its head.
It’s his first game back after a few months on the sidelines with an injury he picked up in his Brighton debut in the cup.
This memorable goal is O’Riley’s first since making his £30 million move from Celtic in the summer, a transfer that has proved to be a significant step in his career. For Brighton, his goal provided a massive boost, capping off an impressive debut and adding a new chapter to his flourishing career post-Celtic.
It’s full-time, and Brighton has beaten the champions 2-1 at the Amex. They’re in great form this season, and Matt O’Riley will look to help with their European football charge.
Glad to see Matt back playing and scoring well done Matt hope it’s just the start of many goals.
