As Celtic get set to take on Rennes in France we HAD to go back to the last time Neil Lennon and his men took on the French side.
The bhoys came away with a credible 1-1 draw but Rennes took the lead under the most bizarre of circumstances and the most Celtic away day thing you’re ever likely to see.
The bhoys are notorious for being bad Euro travellers and have snatched defeat from the arms of victory many a time. Back in 2011 Rennes opened the scoring against Celtic, well kind of. Cha Du Ri with a blind pass back to Fraser Forster saw the ball evade the goalkeeper and trickle into the Celtic net. It’s humorous to look back on now but trust me when I say the smile on Cha’s face after this mistake was not shared by the Celtic fans.
It takes a lot to beat Fraser Forster, not for Cha Du Ri though… (Rennes Away 2011) ? pic.twitter.com/N50fyUvyNy

Joe Ledley would save Celtic’s blushes with an equaliser against Rennes. The return leg would see Celtic beat them 3-1 at Parkhead.
