CELTIC are very much still in the hunt for Ivory Coast striker Issouf Bayo STV News has revealed.

Club officials have stated, although Celtic’s first bid has fallen below their asking price, they are still in dialogue with the Scottish Champions.

Sporting Director Van Daele said: “We can confirm that a first offer was made which was refused.

“However, we are still in touch with Celtic club officials to continue negotiations.”

Brendan Rodgers is keen on the strong striker who has attracted interest from several clubs around Europe.

One of Bayo’s biggest strengths is in the air which is very much what Celtic need at this moment in time.

We like many fans are growing impatient with Celtic’s lack of movement, mainly because the last two windows have seen a lot of talk but not a lot of deals getting done.

It’s vital Celtic strengthen in this window as they find themselves in a title fight with their Glasgow rivals throwing the kitchen sink at Rodgers’ side in the hope they can dislodge them as Champions of Scotland.

Getting the Bayo deal over the line as soon as possible would alleviate some of the tension within the Celtic support.

  1. Now we need to ask how we can not sign any player that can walk in and play football when asked we can not sign this type of player how come, now we need four or five new faces and nine or ten moved out as soon as,we need seasoned pros now,why let it slip out our own hands when we got money to run the show in Scotland

  2. In St Brendan we TRUST, he put forward areas needing to be strengthened. There is still more to be done. But the team and supporters are not to be ‘done’ this window. FFS.
