Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has taken responsibility for his side’s 1-1 draw at home to Kilmarnock on Saturday.

Kyogo Furuhashi opened the scoring in the first-half, but David Watson cancelled it out late-on to secure a vital point for the visitors. It was a frustrating afternoon for everyone involved with the Hoops.

Gaffer Rodgers admitted after the game that his side’s performance was ‘poor’, but he also took responsibility for it. The boss spoke to CeltsAreHere after full-time: “Whatever comes our way today we deserve it”, he said.

“I’ve said it a number of times, we’ve played okay and got the results and that momentum was building.

”Our last performance against St. Mirren on a tricky pitch was a professional and good performance, but today it wasn’t that.”

Despite winning eight out of nine going into today’s game, Celtic prevailed to drop points against Killie.

One cannot refute the fact that it has been coming because, apart from the display against St. Mirren last week, performances have been sub-par.

Celtic are seemingly letting the league title slip away from them week-by-week, and fans are growingly becoming frustrated. They know the pot of gold that lies at the end of the season, but the Hoops don’t seem to want it as much as their city rivals.

  1. They have dropped to many points now and it looks like the rangers will now power in front and can’t see them dropping any points and that’s includes against it’s not worked out bringing Rodgers back as I thought his time in EPL over last couple of years was poor and his team ending up in the championship he will go end of the season or sooner. Its down to the people who brought him back also buying some poor players on the cheap again” and then not buying a proven goal scorer come Jan plus a goal keeper really poor all round plus the players not really into rodgers style of play overall a shit show.

  2. Brendan (Donkey) Rodgers, enough said, I know I will get complaints as I should not compare a Donkey to Rodgers.
Donkeys never give up and they do a great job.
