BRENDAN RODGERS believes his Celtic side always have something to prove when they go out onto the pitch whether it be domestically or in European competition.

Celtic are up against as Leipzig come to town for Thursday night’s showdown which could see the bhoys give their last 32 ambitions a shot in the arm or it could be curtains on the night.

Speaking ahead of the game, the Celtic boss is taking nothing for granted and maintains they will aim to do their best to win the tie.

“It’s a pressure game but not every pressure situation is a negative. We’ve seen these pressure moments, at times, show our qualities,” said Rodgers.

We always have something to prove – domestically or in Europe. That’s what you do as a player or manager in every game. I think in Europe, I’m very realistic in where we’re at. That doesn’t stop us wanting to get really good results.”

Celtic have just three points out of nine in the competition so far but have only played one home game.

Brendan Rodgers spoke at the start of the campaign he always felt the home games would be pivotal. The way the fixtures have worked, it has meant Celtic have had two away days in a row.

Can the bhoys play catch up now?
