Celtic’s official Twitter feed was quick off the mark after seeing Juventus had posted their ‘Goal of the Day’ online.

The goal in question was David Trezeguet’s goal against Martin O’Neill’s Celtic side in the infamous 3-2 game in Italy.

Celtic lost the game that night in shocking circumstances when Amoruso came on for the Italian’s and dived to win a penalty.

At the time nobody could believe the referee had pointed to the spot because the dive was so blatant.

Martin O’Neill was sent to the stands before the penalty was even taken because of the injustice that had just occurred. Amoruso scored the penalty in the 87th minute to win all three points for his side.

Celtic were outstanding that night in Italy and it was a shame to see the bhoys go down to a team full of talent because of cheating.

Celtic’s reply to the goal being posted was to post the return encounter at Celtic Park during another famous night for the bhoys where they beat Juventus 4-3 in a pulsating Celtic Park European night with the tagline ‘We prefer this one’.

What a goal from Sutton.

  1. They. beat the auld sevco. Eight – one on aggragate. On their way to winning the Big eared cup in 96 and the Intercontinental cup in Japan. So as a fan of Juve as well, I hate the way Amoruso cheated the Hoops oot a well played draw. But football a cruel mistress.
