NEIL LENNON has only been working with Odsonne Edouard for a month but the Irishman is clear what he has in the French striker with others trying to bring him down.

Edouard has been out for a large portion of the season with injuries and has had to also deal with a multitude of attacking partners due to injuries to others.

At the age of 21, the player has scored some very important goals for Celtic over the past year and a half but yet his price tag makes him an easy target for others.

Speaking about the frontman before the Glasgow Derby, Neil Lennon was glowing in his praise for the man affectionately known as French Eddy.

“He’s only 21. I’m pleased with his progress though and I’m sure the club are as well.” Neil Lennon told Celtic.TV.

“The timing of his goals under me have been pretty good so far, although I wouldn’t mind if they were a bit earlier!

“Can he score more? That may come and his all-round play might get better as well.

“But we’re talking about a player who’s nowhere near his peak yet. He’s got 18 goals already this season, which is a healthy return.

Neil Lennon is back in charge and it’s time for the Glasgow Derby this afternoon where Celtic can go thirteen points clear of their Glasgow rivals with a win.

The bhoys will need to make sure they turn up and get the job done, including Edouard who has three goals in this fixture already.
