Celtic have been drawn against Inter Milan in the last 32 of the Europe League.

Ronny Deila’s side will play two legs against the Italian side as they try and get through to the last 16 of the competition.

Celtic have a storied past with Inter, in the clubs finest hour it was Inter who were put to the sword by the now famous Lisbon Lions as Celtic secured the European Cup.

As glamor ties go, they don’t get much bigger. While this is a very tough draw for Celtic it’s worth noting that Inter Milan are currently sitting 12th in the Italian top flight after 14 games played.

It will take a big effort for Celtic to get past Roberto Mancini’s side but you can be sure Celtic Park will be packed for the encounter in February.

A return to a big European night under the lights is what many of the players and fans have been craving and they have certainly got their wish.

It is now up to the board to back their manager in the transfer market as he tries to plot the Italian sides downfall.

Celtic have found it tough going against Italian opposition in recent memory, coming up short against Juventus and AC Milan in the Champions League under former boss Neil Lennon.
