CELTIC FANS are used to having their hearts broken by loan signings that eventually go back to their club, our most recent signing like this was Patrick Roberts, and it took a while for the fans to get over him.

Celtic had Patrick for two and a half years all in before he moved back to City then out to Girona on loan. The player and the fans hit it off, and when he left, it was hard to take.

Now we find ourselves in a similar position with Oli Burke, yes, he’s only played three games for Celtic, but the bhoy looks like a player. He came on in the second half versus Hamilton and changed the game for Celtic. His movement, pace and footballing brain show why there was so much interest in the player from a young age.

With Burke hinting at wanting to stay in the summer if he continues his development from now until the end of the season, Celtic fans are getting excited a deal could be done. However, West Brom manager Darren Moore has reiterated Oli is not for sale, and he will be back in the summer to continue with West Brom.

Speaking to SunSport he said:”We want to get him back. “If Oli is back in the shop window, it’s because he’s doing well for Celtic.

“But the magnificent thing is he’s our player. He’s being developed to be brought back here for West Brom.

“We hope to see him back here in the summer after a succession of games and goals.”

Could the player push through a move if Celtic really want to keep him? Loan deals are great because it sometimes gets you a player you might never have got to see otherwise, BUT there’s something very attainable about Burke at this present moment even if their manager is saying otherwise.
