West Ham United have reportedly made a significant promise to Celtic youngster Daniel Cummings as they look to prize the teenager away from Parkhead.

The 18-year-old striker has struggled for first-team minutes under Brendan Rodgers and is yet to sign a new contract at the Hoops, and as the days go by, the likeliness of that happening is unlikely.

Now, the Premier League outfit are said to have offered Cummings a fast-track into their senior side to convince him to swap Glasgow for London.

With contract talks at an impasse, West Ham are now moving decisively.

Reports suggest that Irons boss Graham Potter and sporting director Mark Noble have personally assured Cummings that he will join the first-team squad next season if he commits his future to the London Stadium. [Hammers News]

Rodgers recently highlighted Callum McGregor’s journey, which included a loan spell at Notts County before he established himself as a first-team regular. Yet, modern footballers—and their agents—often demand quicker pathways to first-team football.

It seems that Celtic will lose Cummings this summer. It’s frustrating, but you can’t stand in his way of a promise of first-team football in the best league in the world.
