BRENDAN RODGERS has told fans he expects to see some players moving out during this window after bringing three players in so far.

One casualty of the clearout looks to be summer signing Youssouf Mulumbu.

The midfielder only came in at the tail end of the summer window on a free to play back-up in midfield, but he’s hardly had a game for the club after his great year with Kilmarnock the season prior.

Brendan Rodgers has made it clear Mulumbu will not be getting any game time in the second half of the season and has told the Scotsman; the central midfielder is likely to head out on-loan.

“Youssouf is at the age where he needs to play really. He came in as a support player to the team but he’s at the age really where he needs to play in the next part of the season so he’ll probably go out on loan.” Rodgers declared.

It seems like an absolute waste of resources and the type of inexplicable signing we’ve seen before in Marvin Compper. Both players brought in to do a job then quickly cast aside and put on the scrap heap.

It’s clear Mulumbu was a panic signing to make up the numbers in the summer, and that’s a scenario Celtic should never have to play out.
