LUCA CONNELL didn’t get a loan move out of the club during the summer window. He is too old to play for the Colts unless it’s cup games and he hasn’t featured for the first team.

The Irish under 21 international is at the beginning of his third season at the club and looks nowhere near getting a chance to show what he can do.

They raved about him during his short time at Queens Park and the Irish setup also have wonderful things to say about Luca.

However, Neil Lennon playing young footballers was never really on his radar.

There was hope Luca could catch the eye of Ange Postecoglou in pre-season but nothing to this point.

There are many Celtic fans who believe there’s a player there and given our lack of depth in the middle of the park, we could be doing with a helping hand.

Celtic would be thrown into chaos should Callum McGregor get an injury between now and January. We need others to be able to step up when their chance comes. At the moment, there’s very little game time for Luca to play and his development will suffer.

Will an emergency loan come from a lower division in the coming months?
