It has been nearly a year and a half since Celtic were desperate for defensive reinforcements and they came in the form of Jack Hendry and Marvin Compper.

Two players who have made very little impact on this Celtic side. Marvin Compper’s time at Celtic is what it is, but Jack Hendry’s time at the club can hardly be seen as a success.

Out of sight out of mind now but the defender hasn’t shown enough in the games he has played to show us he can be a force in Celtic’s defence. It’s a sad thing to say but he hasn’t made the grade and unless some sort of Ryan Christie-esk revival is around the corner he must be one of the ‘squad’ players for the chop.

Celtic need at least one new defender with Boyata and Benkovic heading out in the summer and there won’t be many Celtic fans crying for Jack Hendry to come in for Euro qualifiers. With that being said, it’s better for the player and the club if they cut ties this summer.
