Neil Lennon will be absolutely delighted with the start new signing Albian Ajeti has made to his Celtic career. To say he has hit the ground running would be a massive understatement considering the striker has spent so long on the sidelines.

That is probably the most exciting thing about the Swiss international, his best is yet to come and that’s not been lost on his manager when he spoke the official website.

“In terms of his overall play, you can see that he’s getting fitter and stronger with each passing game. I’m really thrilled with the contribution he’s making him, and there’s more to come from him. That goal against Livingston was a superb striker’s finish”

“He is. Building his confidence comes with getting more game time, getting to know the players around him a bit better, scoring goals, all of that gives strikers more confidence.”

Lennon will be hoping his new striker can continue his hot streak as the Bhoys travel to Latvia tonight to face Riga in the third round of Europa League Qualifiers. Ajeti has also brought some much-needed competition to the forward position and some vital cover.

The Champions have been found short up front for the past too few seasons with Lewis Morgan and Mikey Johnston getting asked to play lone striker roles in Glasgow Derbies.
