CELTIC are one play-off round away from the Champions League proper and while that would bring in a massive cash windfall for the Hoops it’s not just Celtic that stand to benefit from qualification.

Due to UEFA’s Solidarity fund, clubs from participating nations receive a cash boost from the Champions League cash pot. If Celtic do get past Malmo EVERY team in the SPFL stand to receive £250,000 from that fund.

A Champions League run in the group stages would land Celtic a cash bonanza upwards of £17 million and while 250k might pale in comparison that money would help the clubs out greatly.

While you might not see many opposing fans cheering on The Bhoys next Wednesday you will be sure the money men at their clubs will have their fingers crossed that Celtic can do it.

Scottish Football is said to be in the best shape financially for over 10 years – more money coming into the league can only strengthen this position.
