A familiar face was spotted training with the Celtic squad ahead of their Europa League clash with AS Roma.
It’s Wilfried Nancy’s second time in the Celtic Park dugout and his first managing in a European competition. He’ll be desperate to get his first Hoops win under his belt after their 2-1 defeat to Hearts on Sunday, though a tough test undoubtedly awaits them.
They face a Roma side who recently suffered back-to-back league defeats for the first time this season, with the Italian giants sitting fourth in Serie A.
However, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have won their last two Europa games and sit 15th in the standings, two points above the Hoops. The Italians were in Glasgow last month as they sealed a 2-0 win over Rangers.
There’s good news for Celtic, though, as winger James Forrest was spotted taking part in training at Lennoxtown today.
In a video posted by Sky Sports, Wilfried Nancy was seen putting the side through their paces ahead of Thursday night’s match.
Forrest hasn’t featured for the Hoops since 6th November, where they suffered a 3-1 defeat against FC Midtjylland in Denmark.
The one-club man has made 17 appearances so far this season and will be eager to show Nancy what he can bring to the team through his years of experience.
Celtic host Roma in match day six of the Europa League tomorrow night, kick off at 8pm.
