CELTIC FANS will become more and more weary the closer it comes to deadline day this month.

After what looked like a routine transfer window in the summer where we would look to build on our squad, the last few days of the window proved problematic with players trying to leave.

Moussa Dembele left Celtic high and dry after conducting himself in a less than professional manner. The club did not want to sell as they didn’t have a replacement for the Frenchman but due to his petulance there was only one way he could go, and that was out the door.

It was also Dedryck Boyata who would test Brendan Rodgers’ resolve in the final days with his agent insisting on impromptu meetings when he was taking team training and the defender adamant he was injured when the Celtic manager made comments to the contrary.

With Celtic fans eyes on who’s coming in, it’s important to keep an eye on what’s happening with the players we already have. Boyata is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with any club, and after his agent said they had pulled out of any talks with the club, it’s highly likely he will leave in the summer. But could the twist come as we enter the final days of the window, will Celtic have a provision in place should a late bid come in for the Belgian?

It’s unfathomable that Celtic would be caught out twice in the same season with wantaway players and you have to hope there’s a list ready to go should Boyata and the club come to an agreement for him to leave sooner than the summer.

  1. If Deidhied signs a contract or not. Still have to replace his place in midfield. My Guess he is holding out for a bid wages move anywhere. But no longer in Scotland. Maybe he’ll move elsewere in the Uk. His move now.
