Fellow Celtic site CQN broke the story today that Willie Collum has been handed the responsibility of officiating the new Glasgow derby that takes place on Saturday.

Many Celtic fans will remember Collum famously giving old Rangers a penalty without ever seeing the challenge take place.

Managers up and down the country have lambasted some of his performances in charge of games yet he still gets a position of prominence in our game.

He will have to be the peacemaker and not bottle any decisions that come his way on Saturday.

For anyone who hasn’t seen the penalty he gave Kirk Broadfoot once upon a time.

  1. We can be thankful it’s not Thompson. And let’s not forget, collum has given fewer bad decisions against us than the likes of Thompson and McLean. He should have sent Gordon off last season, but only gave yellow, and do t forget guidettis penalty at tynecastle.
I’m just surprised it wasn’t Thompson.

I’m sure the media campaign about a catholic school teacher being in charge will tart soon enough.
