Celtic winger James Forrest has revealed Tom Rogic’s exciting comments to his Hoops teammates after the appointment of Ange Postecoglou.

As quoted by the Daily Record, Rogic worked under Postecoglou when he was manager of the Australian National team between 2013-2017.

Currently, Forrest is on international duty with Scotland as they prepare for Euro 2020 but also revealed Rogic’s comments which look to have excited some of his Celtic teammates who will be working with the 55-year old this season.

“It’s good for the country, and it’s great to be a part of it. Then, once the Euros are finished, we’ll be back into Celtic, so there’s a lot to look forward to. Tom’s said really good things about the new manager. He worked with him at the Australian national team, and he said that he’s very good and that a lot of players speak highly of him.’

“And what Tom’s said about him, you’re hearing that from a lot of different people, so that’s a good sign, and I’m looking forward to him coming in.

“Everyone will be eager to make a good impression with the new manager. I think it’s an exciting time for the players, the fans and everyone at the club.”

Many fans are sceptical about the move for Postecoglou, with him being unknown to most Celtic fans up until a few weeks ago.

However, he has received rave reviews from those in other parts of the world where he has worked, including his homeland for the majority of his life, Australia.

Those references are all we can go off until he gets started and deep into the job, so to hear these comments from Rogic add some excitement to the appointment.

Hopefully, with the comments from Rogic, he and his fellow teammates will be optimistic and looking forward to working with a new manager going forward. Ultimately, only time will tell how successful Postecoglou is at Celtic.
