It’s all getting a bit silly now, anybody who has ever been a manager or even thought about being a manager briefly is being linked with the Celtic job.

It speaks to the media playing darts with a blindfold on trying to hit the bullseye.

90min are now reporting, Stoke City Boss Michael O’Neill is in the running for the Hoops position this summer. It’s not the first time O’Neill has been linked with the role but it is the first time this year.

We have had a plethora of names from Edde Howe to Roy Keane hit our screens in the past two weeks but zero media outlets are coming from a position of much knowledge.

Celtic kept the Dominic McKay appointment well out of the public eye until they were ready to announce this deal.

The man who are selecting the next Celtic manager will likely be Dermot Desmond who will be flanked by Peter Lawwell and the incoming McKay. There are likely to be very few other people who will be aware of what’s going on between the small circle at Celtic and when the club wants us to know something, that’s when some of the media will get their tip-off.

Who would you like to see as the next Celtic manager?

  1. I would like Eddie Howe his style and expertise will help celtic and he’s age is a plus he’s young man with ambition would be a good move for celtic Cochice

  2. We need to get Steve Clarke in and forget this “Celtic way” nonsense, this is 2021 and a good defence is as important as good forwards.
We have to build from the back, and start with another goalkeeper, David Marshall I think, and take another look at Hendry after his success in Belgium, and Marion Shedt.
