We reported earlier today Daizen was back at Yokohama Marino’s so the Japanese support could say a proper goodbye to the Celtic star.
Before today’s game, Daizen was on a podium trackside saying his goodbyes while holding up his Celtic jersey.
It’s worth noting there were a decent number of Celtic jerseys in the crowd while this was going on.
Japanese players like to play homage to their former stars when they leave for a new club and the teams also put out memorabilia for the player involved if they’ve been popular during their time.
Daizen was very much loved at Marino’s much like Ange Postecoglou was during his time in Japan. It was great to see the Celtic player get a good send off.
Daizen will now link up with the Japanese squad for summer internationals before enjoying a break. He and the rest of the team are due back in Glasgow on June 27.
