Chris Sutton believes The Rangers fans can take solace from the fact they surely can’t play any worse than they did at Hampden two weeks ago at Celtic Park on Sunday.

Celtic are set to welcome their Glasgow rivals to Celtic Park in a game where the club can clinch their seventh title in a row. While Celtic have had the beating of The Rangers since Rodgers took over, you have to go back to the 5-1 drubbing on Rodgers Derby debut for their last win against them at Celtic Park.

Sutton believes Celtic have the motivation going in.

‘The one thing the Rangers fans can cling to ahead of the contest tomorrow is that it can’t be any worse than the atrocious Scottish Cup semi-final.’ the pundit wrote on his Daily Record blog.

‘Celtic are hunting for a title win in a game against their biggest rivals and their motivation is obvious.

‘It’s not been vintage from the champions at times this term but it hasn’t needed to be and Rodgers will want a big display.

‘It’s hard to think that after hammering Rangers 5-1 at home at the beginning of last season, they haven’t beaten them on their own soil since.’
