BRENDAN RODGERS believes things could have gone a little bit different if they could have called upon Dedryk Boyata in Greece on Tuesday night.

Celtic shipped two soft goals which were ultimately their downfall after a late rally by the bhoys.

Boyata refused to play in the game and told a Belgian newspaper he was injured.

However, the Celtic manager was having none of it and insisted Boyata was fit but his heart is not with the club anymore.

“My concentration until I get back is only with the players who were here.

“But yeah, Dedryk would have been fit to play.

“Is that frustrating? Yeah because he’s been with us over the course of our journey for a couple of years.

“We got to this position and were without someone of his quality. Having a World Cup semi-finalist in our team would certainly have helped.

“But he wasn’t here.”

Dedryk Boyata should never be allowed to play another game for Celtic after his selfish and petulant behaviour.

He let Celtic and Brendan Rodgers down – the man who gave him a chance to resurrect his career.

  1. A disappointing situation Celtic find themselves in..They should deal with Boyata immediately, let him see out his contract out of the first team, let him sign a pre in January, forget about the money …let him Rot in the reserves..
Celtic show some back bone instead of thinking of ££££££
