JAMES FORREST won PFA Player of the Year on Sunday night with the midfielder getting the most votes among his peers to take the trophy home.

However, the Celtic player wasn’t there to accept it and instead of a proper surrogate who could have accepted the trophy on his behalf we got something rather bizarre.

In the Celtic’s star’s absence, Andy Walker along with singer and Gers fan Amy McDonald picked up the honour on his behalf at the ceremony…eh.

According to RecordSport, the Celtic players are currently in Dublin enjoying a few days off after winning the title which would explain their absence from the ceremony BUT maybe a more suitable replacement would have been in order.

Steven Gerrard for one, he’s said more nice things about Celtic over the past five years than Walker has.

Forrest beat out competition from his teammate Callum McGregor, Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent to win the prize.
