DAVID WEIR has piled more misery onto the Ibrox faithful by admitting that The Rangers are unlikely to challenge Celtic in the League with Brendan Rodgers at the helm.

Speaking ahead of this weekends tie, the former Ibrox assistant manager who got his marching order for being unable to rise to Rodgers’ challenge believes anyone will struggle to match the Celtic manager.

These comments are sure to send the Ibrox lot into meltdown, it doesn’t take much to be fair.

“I think it will be really difficult (for Rangers to close the gap to Celtic). He (Rodgers) is a top manager. He has a method in regards what he does.

“He has the respect of the players, the club, everybody and he is setting the bar high.

“Celtic’s managerial appointment was really good. There was obviously a lot of thought and planning went into it.

“They picked the right man at the right time and he has shown their faith was right.”

This week, Ibrox Chairman Dave King told the Gers fans he would appoint a manager fit for purpose next season. Fourth times the charm!
