CELTIC youngsters Mitchell Frame, Daniel Cummings and Josh Dede have all signed new deals with the club this week as Celtic begin to buck the trend of losing some of their promising young players.

The Scottish Daily Express report all three have signed on for the club and will be part of the under 18 side next season, not quite ready for the B side, although they could see some action in the Scottish Lowland League.

Mitchell Frame was linked with a move down south, and having lost so many players to either English or German clubs over the past five years, it’s great to see the Hoops being proactive keeping their young players and developing them into potential first team players.

Mitchell plays at left back, Cummins is a forward and Dede is a right-back.

Celtic have to make a concerted effort to make the experience at youth level similar to what’s happening in the first team. We have dropped the ball when it comes to developing our own players and keeping them from the clutches of other clubs.

Celtic’s pitch to any youngster should be development and a real shot at getting into the first team. If those channels are open and youngsters can see tangible progress, it makes the decision to leave tougher.
