Houston Dynamo have made a formal offer to sign former Celtic left-back Marcelo Saracchi from Boca Juniors.
According to reports from South America, the MLS side have offered US$1 million for 60% of the defender’s economic rights, with Boca expected to respond in the coming hours.

So, in simple terms, Boca will get a 40% sell-on fee.
The development comes after Saracchi was heavily linked with a return to Celtic earlier this summer.
Despite the speculation, CeltsAreHere understands Celtic never made a formal offer to either the player or his representatives.
Contrary to suggestions in some quarters, wages were not the stumbling block.
CeltsAreHere also understands Boca Juniors would have been willing to sell the Uruguay international for less than ÂŁ1.5 million, making the deal financially achievable.
Saracchi’s own preference had been to remain in European football, which initially made a return to Celtic an attractive proposition.
However, with no move from the Scottish champions materialising, that stance could now be tested by Houston Dynamo’s concrete interest.
Should the 28-year-old complete the switch to Major League Soccer, he would be reunited with a familiar face for Celtic fans.
Former Celtic defender Erik Sviatchenko is currently on the books at Houston and could soon welcome Saracchi to Texas.
While the idea of bringing Saracchi back to Glasgow generated plenty of debate among supporters, Celtic ultimately chose not to pursue the move.
With the defender now edging closer to a transfer elsewhere, it appears that chapter has closed, and unless there is a dramatic late twist, Saracchi’s next destination looks set to be the United States rather than a return to Paradise.
