Tom Boyd will take charge of Celtic’s legends side at the returning Tennent’s Sixes next month.
The former Hoops captain has been named manager for the tournament at Braehead Arena on October 3 and 4, with Celtic placed in Group C alongside Rangers, Kilmarnock and St Mirren.
Boyd will be working with a squad already packed with familiar Celtic names.
That gives Boyd plenty of experience to call on when the competition gets underway, with the former defender no stranger to big occasions himself.

Boyd made 406 appearances for Celtic between 1992 and 2003 and was captain during one of the most important seasons in the club’s history.
He wore the armband when Celtic won the league in 1997/98, stopping Rangers from claiming a tenth successive title.
Boyd also collected three league titles, three League Cups and two Scottish Cups during his time at Parkhead, while he was part of Martin O’Neill’s Treble-winning side in 2000/01.
The Sixes itself is returning more than three decades after the original version ended in 1993.
Celtic won the competition in 1992 and will now have another crack at it in a legends format involving all 12 Premiership clubs.
The group-stage draw has also ensured an early meeting with Rangers, giving Boyd the chance to lead a Celtic side into another Glasgow derby setting, this time on the indoor pitch at Braehead.
