South Korean internationalist, Hyeongyu Oh, joined Celtic Football Club during the 2023 January transfer window on a five-year deal.

Making his debut in January 2023 in a league game against Dundee United he then scored his first goal for the Bhoys the following month against St Mirren in a 5-1 Scottish Cup win.

With 21 appearances, 7 goals and 3 trophy wins during the latter part of the 22/23 season, the striker got off to a great start with the club.

Arriving from K League 1 club Suwon Samsung Bluewings, where he has played since 2019, Oh sealed his dream move to Celtic after scoring 14 goals in the calendar year of 2022.

Since graduating from the Samsung Bluewings' youth academy, Oh enjoyed a spell on loan spell at to Gimcheon Sangmu in 2021, helping them secure promotion to the top flight.

Oh is not the first South Korean to play for the Hoops, with Ki Sung-Yeung and Cha Du-Ri both having had successful spells with the club in the early 2010s.
