Noel Gallagher has described playing Celtic Park as a “no-brainer” after Oasis confirmed they will open their 2027 world tour in Glasgow.
Following the success of their Live ’25 reunion tour last summer, Liam and Noel Gallagher are preparing to hit the road together once again.
Oasis will begin their Live ’27 tour at Parkhead on May 21 before returning for another four performances on May 23, 25, 28 and 29.
The five-night run will bring one of the world’s biggest bands to Glasgow’s East End and mark the first major series of concerts at Celtic Park in more than 30 years. Celtic confirmed the five dates on Monday.
The final night will be particularly memorable for Noel, who celebrates his 60th birthday on May 29.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the Oasis songwriter and guitarist explained why Celtic Park was an obvious choice for the band.
He said: “I’m going to be on stage at Celtic Park for my 60th birthday, May 29. I think it’s the last night.
“Knebworth is a no-brainer. City, we were devastated we couldn’t play it last time because they were building the new stand. Celtic Park is a no-brainer.
“This tour is going to be so much better.”
Celtic Park will stage the opening leg of a tour which also includes dates in Manchester and several major cities across Europe and the United States.
Ticket prices for the Parkhead concerts have also been revealed. Standard admission starts at £71.50, with seated tickets ranging as high as £263.50. Standing tickets are priced at £170.50 and £203.50, including fees. Full Celtic Park ticket details have been released ahead of the ballot.
Demand is expected to be enormous following the success of the band’s comeback tour.
For five nights next May, Celtic Park will have Oasis tunes blasting. What a run it will be.
