The day has finally arrived for the Scottish Champions to return to action on what promises to be a special day at Celtic Park

Ange Postecoglou confirmed at his pre-match press conference on Friday that everyone was available today apart from Carl Starfelt and Yosuke Ideguchi.

The side expected to take on Jim Goodwin’s Aberdeen is one similar to last week’s selection in the 2-0 victory against Norwich City.

Joe Hart

It will be interesting to see what position the goalkeeper takes up today as he’s been very advanced during pre-season games.

Josip Juranovic

Although a case could be made for Anthony Ralston who has been solid during the friendly fixtures, Juranovic is likely to get the nod.

Cameron Carter-Vickers

A vital part of Celtic’s team last season that will be one of the first names on the team sheet.

Stephen Welsh

Today might come too fast for Moritz Jenz to make his competitive debut. Welsh has played the majority of games during pre-season.

Greg Taylor

Towards the end of the last campaign, Taylor was absolutely brilliant and had really got to grips with the inverted fullback role the manager expects.

Callum McGregor

A special day for the Celtic captain who will unfurl the flag before kick-off. He’s the captain of the team and like Vickers will be one of the first names on the team sheet.

Reo Hatate

The Japanese midfielder was phenomenal last week against Norwich and could have another big season for Celtic.

Matt O’Riley

Expecting big things from the Danish U21 international this season as he’s had a chance to settle in.

Jota

Great to have the Portuguese winger back and he loves a goal against Aberdeen.

Kyogo Furuhashi

if the Japanese striker can keep fit for the full season he will bang in a lot of goals for Celtic.

Daizen Maeda

Big player under Ange who typifies his style of football.
