Haissem Hassan’s move to Celtic is still awaiting final contract sign-off, despite the winger completing his medical in London.

CeltsAreHere understands the deal is now at the final paperwork stage, with sources close to Real Oviedo expecting everything to be officially completed on Wednesday.

Celtic and the Spanish club are both ready to announce the transfer once the remaining documents have been signed.

That means there is still one final step to clear before Hassan can officially be confirmed as a Celtic player, but the move is now extremely close.

The 24-year-old has already completed his medical in London without issue and is now waiting for the final contract process to be completed.

The deal is understood to be worth an initial £6 million, with a further £3 million available in add-ons.

Hassan is set to sign a four-year contract with Celtic once the final paperwork is approved.

It brings an end to several days of negotiations between Celtic and Real Oviedo, with the two clubs working through the final details of the transfer.

CeltsAreHere reported earlier this week that the deal was considered almost closed, with Hassan then expected to travel to the UK as the move entered its final stages.

That process has now moved forward with his medical completed.

The focus is now entirely on the final contract sign-off.

Sources close to Real Oviedo believe that should happen on Wednesday, with both clubs in a position to make the transfer public immediately afterwards.

Celtic have been working to strengthen their wide options this summer, and Hassan has emerged as one of their main attacking targets.

His arrival would give Martin O’Neill another option out wide ahead of Celtic’s upcoming Champions League play-off against LASK.

For now, Hassan cannot officially be called a Celtic player until the final documents are signed.

But with the medical completed, the fee agreed and a four-year contract ready, the transfer is now on the verge of being announced.

  1. Our Board does its best to suck the joy out of everything they do…Another saga is drawing to a close ( we hope) and we’ve no doubt saved a few bob on the deal…No wonder Clubs hate dealing with us.

  2. Obviously, our history is known. I must confess, though, to knowing absolutely nothing about Real Oviedo’s history.
