Matthew MacDermid will referee Celtic’s trip to St Johnstone on Wednesday night, the SFA have confirmed.
Kick-off is at 8 pm for the Scottish Premiership fixture at McDiarmid Park as Martin O’Neill’s side look to maintain their perfect start to the league campaign.
The Hoops have been in fine form domestically, collecting maximum points and scoring 13 goals in five games, conceding just three.
MacDermid will be assisted by Ross Macleod and David Dunne, with Dan McFarlane has been named as the fourth official.
Grant Irvine has been appointed as the VAR, and Duncan Williams will serve as assistant VAR.
Simo Valakari’s newly promoted side have made an encouraging return to the Premiership and currently sit seventh in the table with seven points from their opening four matches.
The Saints opened their campaign with victory over Kilmarnock.
They have since suffered defeats against St Mirren and Hearts, and got a point against Dundee but bounced back in style on Sunday with a 2-1 win over Hibernian.
That result will give Valakari’s side plenty of confidence heading into Wednesday night’s clash.
Celtic represent the biggest test of their season so far, although St Johnstone have one record they will be keen to protect.
The Perth side are yet to lose at home this season.
Celtic, meanwhile, arrive unbeaten and with a 100 per cent league record, making for an intriguing battle at McDiarmid Park.
Valakari’s side have shown plenty of attacking promise in the opening weeks and will fancy their chances of causing Celtic problems if they can reproduce that level of performance.
But with their attacking style of play, Celtic will be looking to capitalise on the gaps they leave and exploit the spaces in behind.
