Stephen Robinson has admitted he still expects a lot of interest in his star player David Turnbull when the transfer window opens.

As we all know, David was on the brink of a Celtic move when the deal collapsed because of a failed medical.

After a long, painstaking rehabilitation process on Turnbull’s knee – the midfielder made his comeback just before the shutdown.

He then signed a new deal with Motherwell BUT it was only an extra year. Turnbull showing loyalty but also still having an eye on the Fir Park exit door.

Motherwell have used the shutdown to send David back in for a clear up on his knee so he’s raring to go in June or July.

Will the midfielder play another game for the club? Stephen Robinson is being pragmatic.

“We’re delighted to have a player of that quality committing to Motherwell but I still believe there will be a lot of interest in David.” Robinson told RecordSport back when David signed the deal.

“There is no doubt about that when you have this kind of talent on your hands.

“What will be will be and his natural talent will probably take him to higher reaches of the game.”

Celtic and Neil Lennon will have the time and space right now to plot a bit for next seasons recruitment with no football being played at the moment.

Will they take a risk on a guy who hasn’t played many games in 12 month?
