SCOTT SINCLAIR has been a revelation since signing for Celtic last summer. The player has been pivotal in Celtic’s upward trajectory and he’s bagged some personal trophies and records in the process.

Including being only the 4th player in the clubs history to score a hatrick on the day we clinched the title. Putting the Englishman up there with some exclusive company – Jimmy McGrory, Patsy Gallacher and Henrik Larsson.

But now the attacking midfielder has an accolade all to himself as FIFA announce their team of the season. For those of you not of a gaming persuasion, FIFA ultimate team is a game within the FIFA brand where you get to sign players with coins either won or purchased and build a formidable squad to play against online opponents. During the season you have different cards coming out for ‘team of the week’ where a players stats are bolstered by how they performed in the real world. At the end of the season FIFA’s creators sit down and pick a team of the season for a rest of the world select and those players stats hit the roof.

Scott Sinclair has made it into that squad and in doing so his FIFA stats sit at an overall 89, which is the largest overall stat of any Celtic player in FIFA ever. Not even Henrik Larsson’s legend card beats it with an overall of just 87.

Some of you who aren’t avid fans of the footballing franchise will scream who cares but to the Celtic fans who play this game on a daily basis – this is a big deal. Especially when there’s an uproar every year about the franchises modest handling of how they rate Celtic players.

  1. The fact they ignored the rest of the SPFL for TOTS and gave a full TOTS for the likes of the Argentinian league, Dutch league etc just shows how little EA think of the Scottish league and rating Sinclair higher than Henrik Larsson just shows how little thought process they put into their cards too.
