Reports that Scott Brown is ready to hold talks with newly formed Western Melbourne have intensified after the club’s backers again reiterated their desire to land the midfielder.
Brown had a torrid time at Ibrox on Sunday, and like the rest of the Celtic squad, he’s licking his wounds after the tie.
However, Brown is about to enter the last six months of his deal where he will be able to talk to any clubs who are interested in his services.
Brendan Rodgers spoke last month about Broony earning the right to take his time over a new Celtic deal.
Brown has been a fantastic servant for Celtic over 11 years and has attained legendary status.
It was a given at one point Broony would sign a new deal but the real possibility of he and his family going to Australia for a few years on big money cannot be ignored.
Whatever he decides Brendan Rodgers is correct in what he has said about his Captain.
Speaking to SunSport, Western Melbourne Football director Steve Horvat said: “We’ve been putting the feelers out for marquee players. Now we will ramp up those negotiations.
“Scott Brown is an incredibly inspirational leader for Celtic and is the sort of high-calibre player who would set the standard at our club.”
That would be a great move for brown at his age a big pay day for him,he is not doing what he used to do here anymore,
