MIKAEL LUSTIG left Celtic in the summer after seven trophy-laden years at the club.

The Swede has a special place in the Celtic Support due to his passion, commitment and talent which helped bring Celtic unprecedented success.

Failing to agree terms on a new deal with the club, Lustig reluctantly moved on to Gent – he and his young family making the move away from their home in Scotland.

The defender got off to a flyer at his new club but since then, he has struggled for a place in the side.

In Gent’s last five league games, Lustig was either an unused substitute or not even in the matchday squad.

This has led to the right-back being included in a starting XI of football flops in Belgium this term.

Voetbal News have delivered their verdict and Mikael has sadly made it in. One player who does join him is current Ibrox loan player Ianis Hagi.

On Lustig, the Belgian publication wrote:

“It’s maybe harsh on Lustig because he often played for Gent, especially in Europe.

“But after a flying start, with three assists in the league, he lost his place to Alessio Castro-Montes at right back. He was a free transfer so it wasn’t an expensive blunder, but he was a fairly unnecessary transfer.”

Don’t worry Mikael, the Celtic support still loves you!
