The wait is almost over. Celtic will soon take to the pitch to compete against the European champions at the top level.

Ange Postecoglou has guided Celtic into the elite competition for the first time since the 17/18 season, after just one year as manager.

It’s a massive game for the club, with fans excited to see how the Celtic side fair against top-quality opposition.

Here’s everything you need to know as Celtic hosts Real Madrid.

When and Where?

The first game of the group stage will get underway at 20.00 on Tuesday night with a full house at Celtic Park.

Match Officials?

The match officials for the encounter are from Switzerland. Sandro Scharer is the man in the middle; he’ll be assisted by Bekim Zogaj and Jonas Erni running the line, and fourth official Jonas Fahndrich.

The referee hasn’t been the man in the middle for either side but has been for Leipzog’s encounter against Manchester City last season.

Early Team News

Celtic will be without Starfelt for the match, with the defender not training on Monday. Kyogo did train, meaning he’ll likely be available for the match.

Real Madrid could be set to make a few changes for the match, with Carlo Ancelotti keen to rest some key players.
