The Stefan Scepovic deal looks to be coming to a positive conclusion today after last nights reports suggested Celtic have thrashed out terms with the big striker.

A fee of around £2.2million has been agreed with Sporting Gijon.

He will now have to undergo a medical and gain a work permit to clinch the deal. Much like Wakaso Mubarak’s deal earlier this week, the Serb is expected in Paris to sort out both before flying to Glasgow to link up with the squad.

Celtic have been chasing the players for a few weeks and in the last few days interest from both sides seemed to cool after Celtic crashed out of the Champions League but it would seem now that they have got their man.

Stefan looks like a more traditional number 9 player, something Celtic haven’t really had in the past few years since the days of Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink.

Everything going well he will slot into the team with ease.

Welcome to Celtic Stefan Scepovic!

Expect at least one striker going the other way before Monday nights deadline.
