Tomorrow we face Barcelona, at Celtic Park, again. I know you remember last season, that special night at Park Head. I know you remember where you were, what you were doing and who you were with, and I know you can remember your celebrations, the feeling inside of you, when Tony Watt went through, clean on goal and slotted it past Victor Valdes. Remember what Ian Crocker said at the end of that game?  ‘Wow! Wow! Wow!’. What a night that was. So, are you ready for the same tomorrow night? Where Celtic play their first home Champions League group stage game.

Barcelona are without key players. Lionel Messi, Javier Mascherano, Jordi Alba and Carles Puyol. They have defensive worries and will have to play an inexperienced back four, it suits Celtic. We cannot underestimate this side though, they have won a record seven league games in a row at the start of the campaign. Neymar didn’t start on Saturday which means he is fresh for tomorrow’s game as well, so the Spanish giants are still coming with a strong team to paradise. Neil Lennon will hope to welcome back James Forrest after a virus and Kayal is also hoping to be fit after a groin strain. Adam Matthews is fit. Joe Ledley is confirmed to be missing the game though, which will be a blow to the Hoops midfield. Celtic will be full of confidence after winning 5-2 against Kilmarnock on Saturday with goals from Samaras, Commons and Amido Balde. Celtic were 3-0 up in the game before allowing Killie to come back into it however.

Last time round, Celtic park was amazing. The atmosphere proved that we have got the best fans in the world and that will be shown tomorrow too. I did hear today however, that some supporters are refusing to take part in the pre-match display because it has been organised by the club, rather than the Celtic supporters themselves. This is ludicrous and disgraceful! This is the club we support and pay the hard earned money for, yet some are refusing to improve tomorrow’s experience and support the team because the club are arranging the display!? I would only hope that those ‘fans’ take a good look at themselves and consider that plenty of other Celtic supporters would do anything to be at that game tomorrow.

We need to get behind the Bhoys, show the world what paradise means to us. Show the world the Celtic way and show the world that we can beat Barcelona AGAIN.

Hold on tight.

Hail Hail
