Ange Postecoglou has explained live on BBC Sportsound Aaron Mooy was a late omission from today’s Celtic squad because he pulled up a bit sore at Lennoxtown on Friday afternoon.

The midfielder was likely pencilled in to start the game against Aberdeen due to his current form. However, the knock has meant he’ll miss the Aberdeen game altogether.

Celtic have Matt O’Riley to come straight back into the starting XI. The Englishman’s confidence will be high after grabbing his first goal of the season against St Mirren last week.

Celtic fans will be hoping Aaron will be fit for the cup final in a week’s time.

Before that, the bhoys have to see off the Aberdeen challenge and maintain their nine point gap at the top of the SPFL table.

Celtic have been in great form most of the season and will be looking to get one over their old midfielder Barry Robson, who is the caretaker manager for a Aberdeen at the minute.

It’s still a very strong squad Celtic have put out this afternoon. Hopefully everyone comes through unscathed.
