Adam Idah has revealed that being the centre-point of the Celtic team and having the majority of play come through him is critical for his development at the club.

The imposing Irish striker was brought on by Brendan Rodgers against Motherwell on Sunday at half-time. In the game, Idah made an overly significant impact.

Five minutes into the second 45, he powerfully nodded home a leveller that galvanised his teammates. Then, moments before the death, the 23-year-old converted from Alistair Johnston’s low cross to send the away supporters into sheer delirium.

Idah is making a through mark in Scotland, and some Celtic fans are already calling for him to be brought in permanently. The case for such an argument is coherent and equally as valid, and it appears the player himself is enjoying life at the club.

Speaking after yesterday’s pivotal win, the Norwich loanee admitted his delight at how he is developing, and that the way Celtic play is nothing like what he has experienced in his career: “I think I’ve picked up my game a lot”, he told Celtic’s official YouTube.

“It’s the first time I’m nearly at the centre point of the team and everything has to come through me.

“That’s such a big difference for me and for my development it’s huge, it’s amazing so I’m enjoying it.”
